a sketch i did over the weekend to loosen up and try to get back into the groove of doing traditional art again.
i started out sketching with a thick soft pencil then tightened it up a bit with a tech pencil. then i coated it with a spray on wood finish and added highlights with white acrylic and added some blacks with colored pencil. i was pretty much making it up as i went along and having tons of fun doing it! the wood finish actually works quite well. it seals and stains the drawing without covering it up or smudging the drawing like a wash of paint would do. plus it makes my sketchbook smell nice! |
